Altaïr, Ezio, And Desmond Collide In Assassin's Creed Revelations

Assassin's Creed Revelations

After a premature reveal last week, actual concrete details regarding Ubisoft's upcoming Assassin's Creed Revelations for the Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, and PC have been revealed courtesy of Game Informer which plants the title on its cover for its latest issue.  All three of the Creed protagonists are coming along for this new title as Altaïr, Ezio, and Desmond Miles must do their respective parts to resolve the story.

You'll learn how each of the franchise's major characters -- Altaïr, Ezio, and Desmond -- play a part in the story, and how you'll control each of the three as playable characters. Uncover a brand new part of the world as Ezio travels abroad for the first time to explore the wonders of Constantinople at the height of the Ottoman Empire. Learn about all the new features that set Revelations apart, from a brand new weapon and tool that changes the way you'll fight and traverse the world, to extensive details on the newly customizable multiplayer game. And what exactly is going on with Desmond after the end of Brotherhood?

This is a remarkable way to presumably close out this incarnation of the Creed storyline.  I love when sequels build and elaborate on their predecessors instead of blank-slating the heroes at the start of each new installment.  Of course, in order to understand Altaïr's piece of the action, I'm going to have to go back and push through the original Assassin's Creed for the first time during the next few months.  I hope that Revelations is worth the trouble.  Now, you may be concerned that Assassin's Creed has become one of those franchises that releases a new title annually without fail, but considering that Assassin's Creed II and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood were amazingly fun and well-designed, I can't say I have a problem with it.  As long as the games continue to sport high quality, they can keep on coming.
