Power Button - Episode 41: Unlocking The Nintendo GDC Keynote Address
March 07, 2011
Nintendo's Satoru Iwata had a lot to say during his keynote address at the Game Developers Conference last week, so it seemed only right for this week's episode of Power Button to dig deep into his comments and evaluate the effectiveness of his message. Join Brad Hilderbrand, Joey Davidson, and I for an hour of commentary and debate regarding the newly revealed Super Mario title for the Nintendo 3DS, the upcoming remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the impending release of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, the decision to bench a Donkey Kong Country Returns sequel for the moment, Netflix and 3D movie trailers on the 3DS, and — this is the big one — a discussion on the merits of handheld games versus mobile/social games and the implications for Nintendo, Apple, and the gaming community at large as both mediums continue to grow. Also, we have an update on the contest we're running to give away some neat prizes from CM4 and a new chance for you to enter to win. Mix in a little music as well as Brad's special tribute to Kirby and I think we have ourselves a show.
