What Happens At The "Select" Level Of PlayStation Rewards?
February 09, 2011
Sony kicked off a loyalty rewards program for PlayStation 3 owners a few months ago called PlayStation Rewards. This we know. What we didn't know was exactly what the loyalty rewards were. Sure, we heard about the contest entries and the nebulous end-of-year bonuses, but what does the program offer when one crosses the boundary between regular member and Select membership? I found out last night when I received notice that I'd downloaded enough material from the PlayStation Store and just generally fed the Sony money machine enough to level up. The notice came with a voucher for mysterious PlayStation Network content. So what'd I get when I redeemed the voucher?
- Ratchet (Ratchet & Clank) avatar
- Kratos (God of War) avatar
- Helghast (Killzone) avatar
- Sackboy (LittleBigPlanet) avatar
- Cole (inFamous) avatar
- ModNation Racers avatar
- PlayStation Home scrolling message belt (male and female)
- ModNation Racers dynamic theme
Not a bad haul for a bonus freebie given as a reward for spending money, time, and mind share on PlayStation products. Besides, I'm sure that the golden statues and parades in my honor come with the Legendary status. I'd better acquire more Sony products!
