Capcom is at it again at the New York Comic-Con this weekend as it shares new information about some of its titles in development. Another one of my top picks for newcomers to the Marvel vs Capcom fold has made it into the upcoming Marvel vs Capcom 3 for the Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft 360 as it's been revealed that the star of Bionic Commando himself, Nathan "Rad" Spencer, is joining the fight against Doctor Doom's minions. He's the modernized version with dreadlocks and not the cooler Bionic Commando Rearmed version, but I'll take what I can get. Also, he comes with his own awesome remixed theme song! Check him out in action with his amazing bionic arm (and don't miss how Iron Man taunts him about being unable to afford "the rest of the suit"):
And as if that isn't enough, Capcom has also revealed the galant knight of Ghouls 'N Ghosts fame, Sir Arthur, as another newcomer to the game. The nostalgic love is strong with him as he breaks out his signature weapons and various kinds of armor (even his trademark boxer shorts). He also comes with his own magnificently remixed theme music. Say, Capcom, can you put out these two MP3s before you call it a day?
I'm glad to see that Capcom is sticking with Spencer after his critically panned return last year. As for Sir Arthur, between his appearance here and in the upcoming Mega Man Universe, I can't help but wonder if there's interest in the company in bringing him back in his own home console adventure and these roles are a way of priming the pump for that. It worked for MegaMan Volnutt in Tatsunoko vs Capcom leading into Mega Man Legends 3, after all.
