Weekly Poll: Hello, PSP Calling
August 16, 2010
So it turns out that preorder bonuses to impact where most of you choose to reserve upcoming video games. I'm just as guilty, as even though I rely on Amazon and Best Buy for my gaming purchase needs (Amazon for preorders and Best Buy for immediate impulse purchases), I do cross the line to GameStop when the offer is too good to resist. I sprang for the Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood reservation last week now that there's a multiplayer beta code as part of the deal along with the Harlequinn character. The terrible thing is that the beta is not exactly a permenant acquisition, and yet I still didn't want to miss out on it. I've gone with GameStop a few times in the past based on a preorder offier. I had to have the soundtrack and art book that came with the recent Castlevania titles for the Nintendo DS, and then of course there was the Insomniac Museum in Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time that were all GameStop exclusives. I know. I'm weak.
Speaking of products that retailers want us to buy, last week a rumor that Sony was partnering with Ericsson and Google to create a PlayStation Portable smartphone that runs the Android 3.0 operating system popped up online. Assume for a moment that this report is true. Would you be interested in such a device? Would it convince you to dump your iPhone, Droid, et al? Let's hear your thoughts.
