Those of you curious about Capcom's upcoming Dark Void for the Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3, and PC will have a chance to take the game's jetpack for a test flight this week when a demo version of the game reaches Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network on January 6 and January 7 respectively. Says Capcom:
The demo will give gamers a chance to strap on their jet pack for the first time and explore the mysterious and miraculous world of Dark Void through a combination of thrilling aerial dog-fighting, unique vertical cover action and on-foot combat.
From what I played of Dark Void at E3 last year, it certainly has potential. I just hope that this demo is more intuitive than what I tried at the time. I wound up doing more crashing than flying as I struggled to figure out just what the heck I was supposed to do. Hopefully all of that has been ironed out by now, as the game reaches stores in North America later this month. I'm planning on trying it because I want the jetpack mechanic to be as much fun as I imagine it would be (in the finished product, natch).
