Super Rise Of The Return Of The Revenge Of The Secret Of The Curse Of The Incredibly Long Video Game Title: Episode III - Dawn's Awakening Special Edition HD
Capcom's popular Street Fighter franchise takes a lot of heat for contributing to the trend of branding one's game with longer and longer titles as the core game picks up repeated updates, revisions, and sequels. How else could a simple title like Street Fighter eventually bloat over the years into Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix? Street Fighter isn't the worst offender, however. Not by a long shot. Consider this list from GamesRadar of some of the longest video game titles of all time. Be sure to take a deep breath before reading some of them. Here's a brief taste of the top of the list.
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Super Street Fighter II Turbo: Pinball FX
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Enchanted Folk and the School of Wizardry
Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2 March of the Minis
Space Hulk: Vengeance of the Blood Angels
Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day
Mega Man Battle Network 5: Team Protoman
The Mutant Virus: Crisis in a Computer World
LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures
Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord
They just get longer from there, too. The length of a title doesn't really matter to me, but I have a preference for titles that get right to the point. The best titles sport an elegant simplicity, so a basic title such as Plok tells me more about a game's heart than, say, Plok's Big Adventure or Plok: War of the Fleas.
