Some have said that the Castlevania franchise has grown stagnant over the years, but it seems now that Konami agrees with the sentiment.  I was at the Konami Media Briefing on Wednesday afternoon when a trailer for an initially unidentified new game was shared at Metal Gear Solid mastermind Hideo Kojima's request.  The great Patrick Stewart began to narrate, action played out in dramatic fashion, and... well, see for yourself.

When the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow title appeared at the end of the trailer, the audience of journalists and industry professionals went crazy, applauding and cheering as if it were going out of style.  I have high hopes for this new Castlevania game, and while I did enjoy the last few games in the franchise, what I see here excites me for the future.  Castlevania has been worthy of a major dramatic adventure for a long time, and now it looks like we're finally going to get it.
