Just when it seemed that the Sony PlayStation 3 demo of the upcoming return of Marvel vs Capcom 2 had nothing to offer those of us with only a single DualShock 3 or SixAxis controller and a lack of gaming friends in a local setting, I had one of my brilliant brainstorms to get past these limitations. Do you have a PS3 remote control? If so, go into the PS3's system settings for controller connections and change the remote control from its default value (mine identified as Controller 7) to Controller 2. You won't be able to play the demo competitively, but you will be able to use the remote control to press Start on Controller 2 and select characters. The opponents may not move, but they can be thrashed for your own enjoyment. It's still not a perfect solution, but it is a step in the right direction to hold us over until the full game comes out this summer.
