The Comfortable Recliner Makes All The Difference With Console Web Browsers

Nintendo Wii web browser There's a report going around that seems surprised that there are people out there who use the web browsers available for the Nintendo Wii and Sony PlayStation 3.  There aren't many of those people, mind you, but they are out there.  Apparently 0.04% of web traffic uses the PS3 browser, while only 0.01% of browser use ties to the Wii.  Kombo has the story, but it's the question posed by Kombo's Kim Fidler that I want to address here.

I know I'm not the only one that knows people who exclusively surf the Internet through their consoles so that's why I need to know - why? Is there only one computer in the house that is occupied by other family members, do you just not want to walk to the other computer, or is there some other mysterious reason the rest of the Internet is not yet aware of? Please enlighten me.

Console web browsers definitely have their occasional advantages over a traditional computer browser such as Firefox or Internet Explorer.  I know in my case it's faster to flip over to the PS3 browser to check information at GameFAQs.com than it is to get up from my comfortable recliner and move to the computer desk.  "But that's not exclusive use of the console browser," you might be saying, so I'll give you this next example.  Whenever my father visits he loves to use the Wii web browser to watch YouTube videos and read his favorite car forums from, again, the comfortable recliner, and often for hours at a time.  That's some heavy use for a little software add-on that most people don't take seriously.
