Happy 21st Anniversary, Mega Man!
December 18, 2008
Happy Anniversary to Capcom's beloved Mega Man which turns twenty-one years old this week. Yes, it really has been that long since character creator Keiji Inafune and his team of talented developers first introduced us to the blue bomber and his many weapons (not to mention the first batch of classic Robot Masters). I cannot let the moment pass without pointing you to some of my favorite Mega Man-related PTB entries as we celebrate the characters and games that make the popular franchise so enjoyable.
- Mega Man and Me: Saving The World Eight Robot Masters At A Time (this proto-Secret Origins article provides a crash course in my personal Mega Man history)
- Robot Master Roll Call (meet my personal favorite Robot Masters)
- Secret Origins: Mega Man 4 (I had it first!)
- Mega Man's Missed Menu Opportunity (2003's Anniversary Collection lacked something so obvious)
- Pirated Mega Man 8 For Game Boy Is Pathetic (pirated game fails to understand source material; film at eleven)
- Mega Man Vs. Quick Man (let the eternal struggle continue!)
- Awesome Mega Man 9 Remixes Go Heavy On Concrete Shot (fans create some of the best game music remixes)
- The Forgotten: Mega Man Mania (it's dead now, but maybe we'll see it again someday yet)
- Making Sense Of Mega Man's Many Faces (maybe we are all Mega Man)
- Thank You, Capcom, May I Have Another! (Mega Man 9 has the challenge factor)
- Rare Mega Man Prototype Revealed (Dr. Wily's Early Revenge)
- Pretentious Japanese Warrior Robots (speak English, Zero!)
- Review: Mega Man X Collection (I can never hurt Mega Man X6 like it hurt me)
- More Mega Man Madness (I'm still waiting for the Dr. Wily simulator game)
- The Robots Are Indeed Revolting (Mega Man 3 is horrible. No, the other Mega Man 3)
- Robot Masters On Parade, Part 1 (Extensive look at rarely seen official Robot Master artwork)
And just in case these are all rerun articles for you, here's a little something new. Enjoy this retrospective of weaponry as Mega Man takes on a single Met with less than stellar results.
