Sega Cartridges Tied To Terrorism? Say It Ain't So!
November 04, 2008
I hate bringing up this sort of topic because it's the kind of brief unsubstantiated blurb that you'll see linked across dozens of gaming news sites and blogs with no additional information or explanation included, but if this notion of Al Qaeda terrorists using classic Sega console cartridges as detonators for explosives is true, then it's just a whole new kind of evil. Killing people is bad enough, but using a beloved finite resource like Sonic the Hedgehog 2 or Vectorman to do it is a different level of twistedness. Game cartridges are not meant to be harbingers of death and pain. They're supposed to bring joy and happiness. Using them for bomb parts is a complete perversion of their original intent.
