Do you still have space in your display case after buying those statues of Link, Samus Aran's spaceship, Skull Kid, and Trace?  Then perhaps you can fill it with these newly revealed Sonic the Hedgehog figures from First4Figures.  Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles are in the first wave of characters, meaning that there will probably be figures of every damn supporting character in the series by the time the last wave is released. 

First 4 Figures is extremely happy to announce an agreement with Jetix Europe's Jetix Consumer Products (JCP) for the rights to make vinyl figures and statues based on the classic version of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. The first wave of collectible vinyl figures will be previewed at this year's upcoming Nuremberg and New York Toy Fairs, with product anticipated to come to market around July 2008. They will stand approximately 4 to 5 inches tall. Wave one will be Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. More information on the pricing and timing will be made available soon.

I find myself wondering just how many waves the company will release.  There's plenty of actual real Sonic characters to figurize for a while (Dr. Robotnik, Shadow, Metal Sonic, etc.), but eventually we'll get to the bottom-of-the-barrel characters such as Chocola and Froggy for wave eleven.  Then we can start all over again with figurines for Super Sonic, Hyper Knuckles, et al.  Frankly, I'm surprised Sega hasn't bothered to license the Sonic characters more often for this sort of thing.  Nintendo figured it out a while ago, leading to a multitude of character figurines straight from the Mushroom Kingdom.
