UPDATE: The review is done. Thanks for your input.
This week I'm spending some quality time with The Simpsons Game, specifically the Nintendo Wii version. Unfortunately, first impressions being what they are, the Wii version comes across as yet another lazy port from Electronic Arts. I'm especially reminded of the Need For Speed: Carbon debacle from almost a year ago. However, the quality of the writing and the animation tone during the cinema scenes is actually decent. Impressive at times, really. Plus there's a ton of Simpsons in-jokes and references included, such as posters for Bonestorm and Lee Carvallo's Putting Challenge at the in-game video game store. The tutorial level is even a recreation of Homer's Land of Chocolate daydream fantasy from the episode "Burns Verkaufen der Kraftwerk". I'm split on how to structure the review, so I thought I'd ask all of you out there; which would you rather hear more about: the sloppy quality of the port or the amusing Simpsons references? I'll definitely cover both aspects, but I'm curious as to which topic you would find more useful and informative.
