I'd become so accustomed to getting my Super Smash Bros. Brawl news from the Smash Bros. Dojo blog that I'd stopped listening for information from other sources. Thankfully I've been broken of that habit by AMN which has news that new character models for The Legend of Zelda's Ganondorf and Sheik have been created for use in Brawl. The Brawl development blog has yet to feature these characters, so this is fresh news to me.
"Actually, my designers did work on the designs for Sheik and Link and Ganondorf," said Aonuma. "So they submitted the initial designs, and so it would fit in the Smash Bros. Brawl environment, they’ve had to tweak some of the designs. But Sakurai has brought those altered designs to NCL."
Of course, this all assumes that these character models are intended to be playable characters and not just background extras, but I'm optimistic. I'm curious to see what new tricks the developers have in store for Ganondorf, although between you and me I'm ambivalent about Sheik. I didn't care for the character much in Ocarina of Time, and I have other favorite characters to use in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Still, it's good to see the character included for the sake of completeness.
