Training For Opening Day

E3 logoAs I said last year, there are some things that people just don't tell you about E3.  Now that I have one E3 under my belt I like to think I'm a little smarter about just how to prepare to cover the show.  It's not as easy as just showing up with valid credentials and waltzing from booth to booth.  No, I know now that a successful E3 trip takes some training and preparation beyond recharging camera batteries and buying a tube of travel-size toothpaste.  This year I will be ready.

Problem: Walking up and down the Los Angeles Convention Center causes terrible foot pains and blisters.
Solution: I'm wearing my "E3 walking shoes" all week to the office in an effort to "break in" my feet for next week's long marches.

Problem: A lack of free time during E3 week means most meals come from McDonald's.
Solution: Eat food from McDonald's at least once the week before E3.  I don't eat fast food often, so I'm hoping to, again, "break in" my stomach.  An all-McD's diet is horrible, but there's not much else to choose from when time and money are tight.

Problem: Last year I snapped hundreds of megabytes worth of photos and only a small handful ever saw the light of day online.
Solution: This year I plan to upload my photos to PTB as soon as I take them with one of those swanky camera phones that I'm currently reviewing for Sprint.   If all goes to plan you'll be able to see new pictures added to a photo pool all throughout the days of E3.  Stay tuned for more details.
