Stargate Coming To "All Major Systems"
March 18, 2005
At long last there's finally going to be a video game based on television's Stargate SG-1. Stargate SG-1: The Alliance is shaping up to be a sharp-looking action/shooter game that casts players as the members of the SG-1 team, but there's one glaring flaw: the game is hyped as "coming to all major systems" which the developer, JoWood Studios, defines only as the Xbox, PlayStation 2, and PC. The GameCube is glaringly omitted.
This is not the first time a third-party game has been excluded from appearing on the GameCube, of course, but it's yet another slap in the face to gamers who prefer to stick with Nintendo for their gaming needs. Passing on porting the game to the GameCube isn't what annoys me so much as the phrase "all major systems" does, as if the GameCube isn't a major system. A much more accurate phrase would be "all systems that we feel are profitable", but that's not very marketable now, is it?
