It's been over a decade since Mario's younger brother took on the ghosts with the aid of Professor Gadd's Poltergust 5000 spook-sucking vacuum system, but now Luigi is headed back into the world of the supernatural in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon for the Nintendo 3DS. The original Luigi's Mansion for the GameCube, as you'll recall, was something of a training title for learning how to handle two control sticks at once (which, at the time, was a new thing from the world of Nintendo), but now that we're long finished with that tutorial, we can finally get to work and have some fun with Luigi's ghostbusting experiences. Announced last year as Luigi's Mansion 2 (and don't be surprised that the digit dropped off of the title; Nintendo doesn't like to properly number sequels anymore if it can help it), this new adventure for green 'stache journeys across multiple mansions and introduces some new tricks. For instance, shining a light on the ghosts is no longer enough to stun them into immobility. Players need to activate a new strobe function to stun the ghosts before sucking them up with the Poltergust 5000. Then there's the 3D visuals which, as you'll also recall, were part of the original Luigi's Mansion title so long ago, but scrapped. Really, though, I'm not sure what else I can tell you about Dark Moon at this point that you can't get for yourself by watching the brief segment of Nintendo's E3 media briefing that focused on the game.
