Why are there so many great deals and freebies on the Plus service this month?  I have a theory.  Everyone who originally bought into the first year of PlayStation Plus last summer is due to renew this month thanks to the free bonus months offered for subscribing and the free extra time given as a result of the PlayStation Network hacks earlier this year.  Surely Sony would want to offer an all-star offering as membership fees come due in order to encourage people to pay for another year of service.  Throwing a free Mini on the service and offering 10% off a lackluster PSN game isn't going to accomplish that.  I've found the Plus service to offer a fair value overall and I plan to renew even if every month doesn't bring the amazing deals as often as I'd like, but considering what I've been able to play for less than the cost of a single retail game, I'd say that I'm satisfied.
