With Barack Obama about to take over as President of the United States one would think he's gearing up for four years of serious business, but it is nice to hear that he still has a little free time to enjoy a good video game. Apparently the President-elect's daughters were gifted with their own Nintendo Wii for Christmas last year, giving Obama the opportunity to flex his bowling skills with Wii Sports.
Mr. Obama said he’d have his hands full attempting to rescue the American economy. But he has gotten in a little practice in bowling lately on the Nintendo Wii his daughters received for Christmas. Mr. Obama, who famously struggled in bowling during last year’s Democratic primaries, said he performs better in the video game.
At long last, a video game console will have a place in the White House! Wii Sports is a good casual, non-threatening place to start, I suppose, and while the Wii is for his daughters, maybe if we work on him we can have Obama up to a nice respectable Super Mario Galaxy or Pikmin before his term is up. If he is elected to a second term we'll see about moving him on to something like No More Heroes or one of the Resident Evil titles. As much as I'd like him to enjoy his gaming experiences, perhaps immersing him in the best that the Wii has to offer will also demonstrate that it's possible to enjoy video gaming and yet not be an uneducated slacker addicted to the glowing box.
